  • PAGE 91 Panel 1: wide panel. Clow, Charlie, and Jared are gathered around Charlie's phone. Charlie says, "Alright. Try to enjoy the rest of your night." Claudia (from the phone) says, "We will. You too. Be safe." Panel 2: Close up on Charlie's hand holding the phone. Charlie says, "'k. Night!" Claudia from the phone says, "Night." And Charlie hangs up. Panel 3: Medium shot of Clow, Charlie, and Jared. Jared says, "You two ever consider operating a detective agency?" Panel 4: Charlie and Clow smirk. Charlie says, "Dude. Our specialty is a little...niche." Panel 5: Medium shot of Jared, "I'm just saying." Panel 6: Wide panel. We zoom out, looking through an apartment window at Charlie, Clow, and Jared in their living room, going back to life as usual.

  • PAGE 90 Panel 1: Clow places a hand on Charlie's as she holds the phone. He asks, "Any clue as to what it MIGHT be?" Panel 2: Medium close up on Claudia and Don. Don holds one hand on Claudia's as she holds the phone. Don says, "If I knew for certain, we wouldn't have called." Panel 3: Closer in on Claudia. She says, "Think you could investigate this for us, please?" Panel 4: We look over Charlie's shoulder and down to her phone. She says, "I've got her number. We'll see what we can do." Claudia (on the phone) says, "Thank you! Let's just hope it's not another Halloween incident." Panel 5: At this angle, we see a medium close-up on Charlie and her brother Jared. What Charlie says startles Jared. Charlie says, "Let's hope not. Got anything else that could help us?" Panel 6: Close up on Charlie's phone. Claudia (on the phone) says, "If we think of anything, we'll text you." Charlie (off-panel) says, "Sounds good. I'll keep you posted as we find out more."

  • PAGE 89 Panel 1: Clow, a tall and thin white man with long black hair shaved on the sides, leans forward and sets his crochet project down on the coffee table. Charlie, holding her phone, leans in towards Clow. Clow says, "We're listening." Claudia (from the phone) says, "Alright." Panel 2: Medium close-up on Charlie and Clow. Claudia (on the phone) says, "A young lady came into my shop today to sell tea on consignment. Her name's Vanita - " Charlie's face lights up in recognition and she says, "Wait..." Panel 3: Wide panel. Charlie sits on the right of the panel. Her speech balloons frame an illustration of Vanita on the left. Clow, sitting close to Charlie, listens intently. Charlie asks, "Does she have black hair? Pale skin? With her hair real tight into a poof in the back?" Panel 4: Claudia sits on the stool. Don, standing by her, looks startled. Claudia says, "Y-yes! How do you - " Charlie (on the phone) says, "I met her at the grocery store today!" Panel 5: Back to medium close-up on Charlie and Clow. Charlie is startled, and Clow looks serious. Claudia (on the phone) says, "Well, Don could smell hellfire on her jars. We think something from the pit lives in her house."

Panel 2: The brown hand picks up the phone, and another hand swipes at the screen. Panel 3: Charlie speaks into the phone. "Dude, it's a school night - " Panel 4: Wide panel. Close up on Claudia as she says, "Please put me on speaker. I have to speak with you and Clow." Panel 5: Large panel showing a living room with purple walls. On a blue couch sits a thin, pale man with a black mohawk that hangs down straight from his otherwise shaved head. He wears dark colors and holds a blue crochet project. Next to him is a purple couch covered in floral patterns. On this purple flower couch sits Charlie, phone in hand and a textbook in her lap. She wears a loose black tank top and deep purple pants. Don on the left, back to the viewer, says, “We need to get in touch with Charlie and Clow.” Claudia, texting on her phone, says, “Already on it, love.” Panel 3: Wide panel. In another apartment, we see a coffee table with a tote bag of purple yarn, three textbooks, an open binder of notes, and a phone that’s vibrating. Framing the image are two brown legs and a textbook in another person’s lap.

Panel 4: Don holds a jar, asking, “...What’s this?” Claudia raises her head to see what he’s talking about and goes, “Oh!” Panel 5: Close up on the jar Don is holding. It’s labeled, “Sniffle Time Tea.” Claudia says from off-panel, “A new girl came in and dropped those off for consignment earlier today.”

She smiles and blushes. Panel 4: Don kisses Claudia’s belly and says, “Now be good for your mother.” Claudia smiles. Panel 5: Don gets to tidying up the bookcase by the register. Claudia tallies something on a clipboard. The shop is quiet.

  • Panel 1: Don places a bag full of takeout on the counter. Upon seeing it, Claudia smiles and claps her hands. Don: I come bearing Mawit food. Panel 2: Claudia kisses his cheek – MWAH – and says, “Bless you!” Panel 3: Don walks around the counter and stands by Claudia. Claudia: I still have to close out the register, though. Don: That’s fine. You do that, I’ll tidy up the store. Panel 4: Claudia sits down on a stool to rest her pregnant belly. Don kneels beside her. Claudia: Oh, but let me sit down first. Don: How’s the baby? Panel 5: Close up on the pregnant belly as Claudia says, “Sleeping right now.”

As tends to be the case with the best paranormal comics of this type, the main draw is that it's all about the relationships-- relationships that aren't exactly steamy, they're more caring...."
