I know what I fought for. What did the historians teach you about us?" Panel 2: Wide panel. Close up on Vanita - she's rolling her eyes. "Oh. THAT. Well, schools nowadays teach that Richard fought for law and order - and your side fought for chaos and anarchy." Panel 3: Wide, establishing panel. It's a flashback showing the aftermath of a battlefield. Bodies are cast in silhouette, as is the battered and torn flag. We do not see the logo. Vanita, from off-panel, says, "But I don't trust an institution that took 800 years to outlaw slavery... and only JUST outlawed reform schools 20 years ago."

As tends to be the case with the best paranormal comics of this type, the main draw is that it's all about the relationships-- relationships that aren't exactly steamy, they're more caring...."
