The government, all run by Dicks - worshippers of Richard - would send men to the doors of Mawit families to take the children away. My father had been taken when he was 5 years old. The school teachers beat him if he spoke Mawit, or tried to run back home. They even beat him in he misread the Codex, or didn't pray in class. KING (off-panel): And this was LEGAL?? VANITA (off-panel): Until 20 years ago, yes.
